The sports industry increasingly needs specialised talent to address the challenges of transformation, innovation and sector growth. With this objective in mind, INDESCAT took part in the Sports Professional Networking event, held on 22 October as part of Barcelona’s Saló de l’Ocupació, at Fira de Barcelona.
The initiative, organised by the Intercol·legial with the support of INDESCAT, Barcelona Sports Hub and COPLEFC, provided a meeting point for companies within the sports ecosystem and professionals interested in developing their careers in this field.
The aim was to bring companies’ actual needs closer to the talent available in the job market, facilitate recruitment processes and foster connections that could lead to new hires, collaborations and professional opportunities.
The event placed particular emphasis on identifying professionals with STEM and management backgrounds, which are becoming increasingly important for the competitiveness of the sports industry.
The professional profiles sought included digital marketing and communications, Big Data and analytics, programming and technology, engineering, telecommunications, audiovisual production, 3D printing and other STEM disciplines, as well as business management professionals.
Meetings between companies and candidates were arranged in advance to ensure more effective networking and better alignment with the recruitment needs of participating organisations.
Through this initiative, INDESCAT continues to work towards strengthening the sports business ecosystem and helping companies in the sector access qualified talent.
Attracting and retaining professionals, particularly in technology and management, is a strategic factor in driving innovation and growth across the sports industry. Initiatives such as this one help showcase the career opportunities offered by the sector and strengthen the links between businesses and talent.
